Our client is a global wealth and asset management firm, leveraging over 150 years of financial stewardship. The company provides comprehensive investment solutions across public and private markets for retail, institutional and retirement clients globally. The need has arisen to recruit a high calibre candidate to lead the APAC legal team.
You will effectively manage a sizable team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff in the APAC region to ensure that the legal needs of the business are being met with a high level of excellence, and providing leadership, oversight, advice and transaction management for regionallegal affairs for the Asia businesses. You will participate in new product developments; monitor and provide guidance on regulatory developments and industry best practices; maintain and enhance client relationships (including internal and external clients, counsel, service providers,etc. In addition, you will assist senior management in making assessments concerning the regulatory and litigation risksofcertaincontemplatedactions andprovideadviceonproactivestepstominimizelitigation andregulatoryrisks.
To be considered, you should be a degree holder with significant experience and expert knowledge in asset management business. You should possess a LLB or J.D. and admission to the Bar in an Asian jurisdiction, have demonstrated leadership in a management capacity, as well as experience working effectively in a matrixorganization together with fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
