About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Investment Operationsto lead the transformation, modernization, and scaling of our investment operations platform to a robust front-to-back operating backbone to support a rapidly growing multi-asset investment management business by setting Target Operating Model (TOM), driving automation, risk control, and operational efficiency across a complex global portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations: Oversee a team in HK and Malaysia and responsible for daily Investment middle and back office Operations (e.g. trade booking, confirmation, validation, settlement, reconciliation, onboarding, collateral management) and ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Asset Class Expertise: Comprehensive, hands-on operational knowledge covering Traditional Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Alternatives (i.e. private markets)
  • Platform Transformation: Define and deliver the investment technology roadmap (IBOR/OMS, data platform, reporting), driving multi-asset system integration and modernization.
  • Operating Model & Middle Office: Design a centralized operating model leveraging shared services. Lead the middle-office control layer spanning compliance, performance monitoring, and custody interfaces.
  • Process Optimization: Streamline complex end-to-end operational processes (trade support, reconciliation, asset servicing, collateral management) with a heavy focus on driving organization-wide cash management visibility.
  • Innovation & Data: Establish a unified investment data platform with strict governance. Deploy RPA and GenAI to eliminate manual workflows and maximize platform scalability.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Partner closely with the Group CIO, risk teams, and local Business Units. Manage external technology vendors, custodians, and asset managers.

 Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 15+ years in investment operations strong front-to-back experience within an asset manager, bank, or insurer.
  • Track Record: Proven success driving large-scale front-to-back platform transformations and scaling multi-asset operations.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of the multi-asset investment lifecycle, data architecture, and AI automation tools. Strong understanding of insurance regulatory environments would be preferred.
  • Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Technology or Engineering
